Sigma Kappa provides valuable leadership development opportunities to its members. As an organization Sigma Kappa encourages our members to be involved in at least one extracurricular activity during their collegiate experience. Because of this focus on involvement outside of Sigma Kappa, our sisters are able to engage with the campus and community in ways that are important to them.

Coming up on March 6th, Sigma Kappa Gamma Kappa will be sponsoring a Diversity and Inclusion Seminar.

Each spring we hold Sigmas Have S'more Fun. This event is held with Sigma Alpha, Sigma Chi, and Sigma Pi. Tickets are $5 for unlimited s'mores. We split the proceeds four ways, and our fourth goes to the Alzheimer's Association. This year it will be hosted on Tuesday, March 26 at 6:00 pm. Hope to see you there!

One of our largest events we hold is our Ultraviolet Gala over SIU's family weekend. The proceeds are donated to the Sigma Kappa Foundation and the Alzheimer's Association. We serve dinner, provide entertainment, and have raffles and auctions to enjoy. This past fall we held our Gala at the Garden Grove event center and raised $10,000 for our philanthropies!

In September we participate in the Walk to End Alzheimer's. Every member participates in the walk and some members raise money. Each member holds a flower, with different colors symbolizing the relationship they have with Alzheimers. We hope to soon make Alzheimers a distant memory!
